Three football players sprint across a bright green field during a night game.
3.5 and four. Those two numbers tell you a lot about what kind of student-athlete Hezikiah Jordan is.

The Crandall High School junior carries a 3.5 GPA. Earlier this season, Jordan scored four touchdowns in the first half alone against North Mesquite.

Jordan also plays basketball and runs track, but football is his favorite sport. As a sophomore, he earned second-team all-district honors as a wide receiver and was named sophomore of the year on the basketball team.

“I just like to compete,” Jordan said. “That’s all I’ve been doing my whole life, just competing.”

The opportunity to play college football is one of Jordan’s biggest motivations for keeping his grades up.

“Stay focused with school and get your grades up,” Jordan said. “That’s all you need, just keep your grades up and focus.”
