Classroom Visits

Martin Elementary was very lucky to host Crandall ISD Leadership on Tuesday. We received great feedback from the walks that students are ready to learn!
How can parents continue helping us? Ask your students to tell you about our hallway expectations:

H - Hands Tucked In (students choice: arms near sides, in front of them or behind them)
A - All Eyes Forward
L - Level 0 Voice
L - Low Speed

As we observe our student's learning, be on the lookout for a Good News' Message from Mrs. Saldaña or Mr. Wilson. We love sharing how your child is learning!

Martin's Instructional Strategies

At Martin Elementary we are focused on GROWING all our students in ALL environments. As a campus, we will be focusing on our classrooms utilizing 3 strategies:
  • Think-Pair-Share
  • Writing to Learn
  • Affirmative Checking
In our Parent Newsletter, we will be sharing how you can help us at home with each strategy.

For the 1st Quarter, we are focusing on Think-Pair-Share. This upcoming week ask your child to share the question their teacher use to have them discuss with a partner.

13 days of PERFECT ATTENDANCE

A graphic with the words 'MARTIN PIRATES' and 'Perfect attendance'.
Which class will be next in earning their 13 days of Perfect Attendance?

How do classes earn a prize?
  • Each day the class has 100% of students at school, 1 letter gets colored in
  • Once all 13 letters are filled, they earn a prize!
  • Classes can earn a reward EACH TIME they have perfect attendance.

This week our attendance average was.....93.33%

Attendance Challenge: We almost reached our goal.....help us get there and you will receive a reward.

We can still get PJ Pants any day when our attendance is 95.5% or above.

Lets do this Martin!

Little Pirate Nation

As in the past, we want our Little Pirate Nation involved in our home varsity football games. We are going to continue the tradition of having our Little Pirate Nation lead us out onto the field.
For those who wish to participate, each grade level will have the opportunity to take part. Please have your child at the gate nearest to the Fieldhouse by 6:40 pm the night of the game.
There will be adults and cheerleaders on hand to assist while they are on the field. We invite families to stay for the game and cheer on the Pirates!
Your child will be admitted free on the night of his/her assigned grade level as long as they are wearing any Crandall Pirate spirit shirt. Parents will be charged regular admission to the game.
We look forward to you and your Little Pirate joining us for a fun-filled Friday Night!

Family Lunches

Martin Family Lunches are now open on Fridays!

Next one will be October 3rd and sign ups will open on Thursday September 25th.

Please note:
  • We have limited seating, so you will need to sign-up for your spot at the table with the link below.
  • If you have children that eat at different times, you will need to sign-up for each time slot.
  • To ensure safety and comfort, only two visitors per student will be allowed per sign up.
  • In the comments, please put the name of the two adults.
  • Make sure BOTH adults have filled out VOLY (Volunteer form through district). https://www.crandall-isd.net/volunteering
  • Each grade level has assigned tables; you will have to move to the designated tables for each time slot.
Lunch Guidelines:
  1. Please eat at your assigned table (not with the students at their table).
  2. Students cannot bring friends to come eat with them.
  3. Please do not bring food for any other children (due to possible food allergies).
  4. If you have children in different grade levels, who eat at different times, please wait in the front lobby, so others can eat with their children at their assigned time.
When you sign up, only sign up for ONE (1) spot. 1 Sign Up Spot gets you up to 2 visitors per spot.

Thank you for your understanding while we try to make our limited space work for everyone. We will be releasing 1 week in advance to allow as many parents to sign up as possible.
